A really super great freebie!

I just got mine in the mail after a long bought of patience.  I actually never thought it would come, but when I checked my mail today, there it was!!!
Tadaa!
The tee shirt I created (I was having a 'green' moment).  The company I ordered this through is Polar Print.  They are still having the promotion offering one free item (per household).  I chose the tee shirt.  They also are offering a return address stamp, return labels or business cards for free.  This includes free shipping, you just have to follow the directions EXACTLY. I stress this because it is a bit confusing.  If you follow the directions and are patient you will be rewarded with your self created gift!

(I was so happy with my shirt that I decided to place an order for business cards (I needed more anyway), they were free as well, but I did have to pay $4 shipping.)

The Directions to how this works are HERE.
Bookmark this page or return to my site as you will need to access it later as well.
You'll see.

Good luck and have fun!  Remember if you have any questions go back to the directions.  Feel free to ask me as well!

To my pleasant surprise....

Garage Sale Hunting

Today will be my first garage sale shopping day for the year.  Yippee!  The weather is supposed to be decent, 60 with just a little rain (it is Washington after all).  My husband will be in school so I will be on my own.  I have gotten prepared last night and have everything ready to go.  Besides bringing stuff for baby, I have a number of things set up for my trip.  Here's what I have done;

1 Snack for me, and water
2 Cash, lots of $1 and small bills(cant bargain with a $20)
3 A list of my planned stops

To make my list I have researched both on-line (craigslist) and the local paper to find garage sales that appeal to me.  I have then written them down in start time sequential order with directions to each one below, see example below;

7:30am; 123 Pink Street, Bigtown
take highway, turn left on Big Road, first house on left

8:00am; 456 Green Street , Littletown
take Big road, turn right past school, big orange house

With everything organized I can just wake up, get baby ready, throw a hat on and arrive before all the good buys are gone!
When I arrive at a sale, I will first do a drive-by to see if it is worth my stopping, if it looks good I will find a parking place farthest away and in a spot less likely to get my car blocked in, or dinged.  Then I will strap on baby and start my hunt!
Wish me luck!

more freebies for the week

Free sample of FogTech.  Help keep the fog off your sunglasses!

New link for Dove cucumber deodorant here.

Free Photo Mounting corners.

Try Toms of Mains new moisturizing body wash.

Frugal Friday

Why not have a little luxury in our fast-paced frugal lives?
Today I will share an adapted recipe for a body scrub.  This has been altered and should be something you can make with supplies from your pantry.  Easy and fairly cheap.

1/4 cup oil (olive oil is fine unless you have almond, grapeseed or jojoba)
1/3 cup sugar (brown or white)
a few drops of vitamin E oil (if you have it this will help from going rancid)

Optional ingredients;
a spoonful of turbinado, or raw sugar
a few poppy seeds
a few drops of essential oil (optional only if you use white sugar, brown sugar will smell great on its own.  Brown sugar will smell like molasses, so be cautious when mixing w/ scents!))

Mix together in a glass bowl, store in a jar (plastic will absorb the odor) and keep in your shower.

Hope you enjoy this!

Just a brief rant about Walmart

I made the big mistake of doing my grocery shopping at Walmart today.  Recently I had my windshield replaced on my car and need to get new Naval Base stickers so I could not go to the commissary, so I thought Walmart, why not?  I was not aware that today was the 1st day of May(payday for the entire county) and everyone and their grandmother would be at Walmart.  Yikes.
As I bobbed and weaved my way down the isles I was disappointed to find the Scrubbing Bubbles shower cleaner not marked down and still at the $20 price.  They also didn't have the Scotch Brite toilet scrubber.  I haven't been able to find that item anywhere!  AND, yes there's an and, the LiveActive cheese has gone up to $3.34!!!
The good deals I did find were the day old bread, always the best place to get french bread and whole wheat burger buns.  The Silk Soy milk was 2.98, not horrible with the coupon.
Guess I'll stick to Albertsons sales and get those Base stickers back on my car.

Well I feel better, thank you for listening.
