baby and mommy slippers.

I made some slippers for myself today. Oh how I love to sew. My birthday present came early this year, it was a Brother Serger. I have wanted a serger since I used one at a part-time job in high school. Guess it was about time I got one!!

I made my own pattern as I could not find one I liked on-line. At least not a free one! I think they turned out pretty well. I will alter the pattern a little to suit my liking and try to make some more!!

success at last

Well, these pictures show my 6 Albertsons transactions I completed yesterday and today. It was by far the hardest I have ever worked to save money!! But, it was also the most I have ever saved as well. I put everything out on the counter but it was too much to fit in one pic, so you see three shots here.

I spent 32.46 total. I saved a whopping $283.56.

yeah, wow.

My trip to Albertsons this morning was nothing short of painful. I went to one of my favorite cashiers as I knew she would make my visit as easy as possible. When she rang me up, my items didnt produce a catalina. Aarg! She didn't understand why and got some help. Finally after a long time spent by the eager-to-help staff running around the store checking all my items, ect, we discovered that the Lipton Teas were not scanning properly. Finally, everything was straightened out and I got my real catalinas.

The cashiers and help staff were so nice to me and truely wanted to figure out the problem together. They took such great care of me. I am certainly going to send a thank you as well as let the Store Director know. (one of them actually commented on how sorry she was that I had to deal with the mean Manager the previous day, when I asked about the '1 catalina rule per day' I was told said manager made that up because she was being mean!!)

I took those catalinas to my old Albertsons as fast as I could and had a very quick and successful go at it there.

Whew.

Albertsons Apologizes

I just got a call from the Store Director, Bob.  He was very nice and apologetic.  He told me the local Albertsons store was having problems with their equipment all day.  The staff was probably very frustrated by the time they spoke with me and it was reflected in their mannerisms.   I was informed that he did speak with the manager and discuss customer service attitude.

Bob also told me that customers are not limited to 1 catalina transaction per day.  It just must have been a glitch in their system.

I was very understanding, having worked many years in the customer service industries myself and thanked him for his call.

I really did appreciate the time he took to call.  I feel much better now.

and on a lighter note..

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby.

Grrrrr......

What a Huge ordeal at Albertsons yesterday.  The catalina machine was not working properly and only gave me my first catalina.  I was told the machines were to be fixed after 1 pm.  I went back to the store and tried 2 more transactions but to no avail.  I was given $15 credit instead to only use in that store.

Long story short I was told;

1. I may have been over my coupon limit. ( whaaaat? I had 9 coupons to 10 items purchased)

2. I was limited to ONE transaction per day to get catalinas. (is that new as of this week???)

I have a hard time believing these, and after a very negative experience yesterday (the manager was rude to me and I was so nice and sweet, I am very sensitive!!)  I have just emailed a letter to Albertsons Corporate.  Hopefully I can get some answers this time.  If we remember the Coupon Policy I was sent last time, we recall no helpful information what-so-ever.

If there is a limit on coupons we can use I need to know.  And if the catalinas will now only print once per day per customer I also need to know.  I have done many deals in the past and gotten many catalinas in one day.  So, what is the problem???

(so this is what I get when I search google images for 'angry shopper'.  I so needed a good laugh!!)

5.99 Family Dinner

Right now, when you purchase a pizza at Papa Murphys it comes with a Free Side Coupon (which requires a brief survey to receive said free product)

The coupon lists two ways to get the required coupon code; by 800 number or on-line.  I have done both surveys and found the on-line version to be a little easier.  Each takes just a couple of minutes and is only about your recent experience with Papa Murphys.  You just simply write the code on your coupon and choose your free food.  Easy.

The free choices are; Cheesy bread, Cinnamon Wheel or Cookie Dough.

I have been combining this coupon with one of those great pizza coupons that come in the Val-Pack or the tuesday ads, my favorite being the 'Kids Special', a half pepperoni, half cheese for 5.99.

Large Pizza; 5.99 +
Cheesy Bread ; FREE = cheap Friday night!!
